CHIRALITY 2026

The 36^th International Symposium on Chirality – CHIRALITY 2026 will bring together the world’s leading experts in the broad and dynamic field of chemical chirality and its far-reaching implications across disciplines. Topics will include, among others, Biology, Asymmetric Synthesis, Supramolecular Chemistry, Helical Polymers, Foldamers, Chiral Nanomaterials, Pharmacology, Spectroscopy, Crystallography, Structural Techniques, Computational Chemistry, Separation Methods, and the Origin of Life.

CHIRALITY 2026 will be co-organized by the Universities of Santiago de Compostela and Vigo and held in the lecture halls of the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

The first edition of this symposium took place in Rome in 1991 under the title International Symposium on Chiral Discrimination. During that inaugural event, the Italian Chemical Society (Società Chimica Italiana, SCI) established the Chirality Medal to recognize scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the field. The medal continues to be awarded annually by an International Honorary Committee.
